Lilith Fair Los Angeles 2010!!!

I have some EXTREMELY EXCITING NEWS to share with you…I’m performing at the Los Angeles Lilith Fair on Saturday July 10th!!!  Artists such as Sarah McLachlan, Emmylou Harris, Miranda Lambert, The Weepies and Brandi Carlile are part of the lineup, so this is one of the most glorious honors I’ve ever received in my life.  Thanks to Ourstage.com for holding the Lilith Contest - I was up against some pretty awesome talent and was just happy to finish among so many great acts. This win is such a surprise - I just can’t believe it! I WON I WON I WON!!!

After finishing in the top 20 on Ourstage.com, I was selected by a panel from Lilith Fair to perform at the Los Angeles show.  Ummmm, this is kind of HUGE!!!  I remember being 14 years old and thinking “Dammit, I wanna play at the Lilith Fair!”  As it turns out, dreams do come true.  Thanks to everyone who spent hours and days and months voting and getting me into that top 20 - you make my heart sing with delight and joy and dance around in little circles!  For a complete lineup of performers and ticket info, head to www.lilithfair.com and have a look-see, see?

“Jes and Friends” Summer Series

Hooray!  It’s that time of year again - lemonade, slip ‘n slides, and barbeques - all the things that make summer great.  And if you’d like to cool off while listening to some great live, indie acoustic music, join me and a new special guest every show, 1st  and 3rd Thursdays at Cafe Muse in Hollywood.  The show is free, the food is delicious, and we are kicking off the season with my friend and co-writer, Keith Varon!  We’ve been writing up a storm lately, and we will share our tunes as well as do some sweet harmonizing for you this Thursday, June 3rd.  The show always starts at 9pm sharp, and you can check my shows page for all details and special guests.  See you this summer at Cafe Muse - 6547 Santa Monica Blvd, Hollywood, CA - 1st and 3rd Thursdays at 9pm! We Have A Winner!!!

Yay, it’s so exciting!!! The winning video response to my Loudly Talking Cell-Phone User Challenge is quite a masterpiece. Submitted by Leslie Applebaum and Phil Marzullo out of Chicago, this video ponders the age-old question, “Who is the #1 Jes Hudak fan?” Haha so maybe I was a little persuaded by the subject matter…but they really did an amazing job and clearly had a blast doing it. So Phil and Leslie, sit back and enjoy the fame that having your video posted on my website will most definitely bring you. Haha you’re both just so freaking awesome!!! I love you guys!!!

NYC Record Release May 4th!

Woohooooo!!! Come celebrate the release of my brand-new EP “National Holiday” with me and the rest of New York City on Tuesday May 4th at 8pm at the most glorious Rockwood Music Hall. Oh the fun we will have! Rockwood is located at 196 Allen Street on the lower east side of Manhattan, just south of Houston Street. I haven’t had an official record release for quite some time now, so this is going to be a very special show. It’s free, so please come hang out, bring some friends, pick up your very own copy of the record, and share in the celebration. Yay!

UCB Theatre and Hotel Cafe!

So check it - I’ve been asked to play a couple of really cool shows this month!  On Thursday, March 25th, I’ll be performing my cover of the classic 90’s hit, “Say My Name” by Destiny’s Child at the monthly comedy show, “Four Stories and a Cover” at the UCB Theatre in LA.  And then, on Sunday March 28th, I’ll be playing a short set at the Songwriter’s Sundays at Hotel Cafe in Hollywood.  Both shows are going to be tons o’ fun, so stop by if you’re in the Los Angeles area!  Head on over to the shows page for all the details.

It’s extremely overwhelming, and I can barely keep track of all the awesomeness!  Thanks so much to everyone who came out and voted for the LA Music Awards, everyone who voted from the comfort of their homes for ISSA, and all the listeners out there who voted “National Holiday” up in the charts over at Ourstage.com.  I’m just so grateful for your support - it means the world to me!  Let’s just keep the good stuff a-comin’, shall we?  2010 is gonna be crazy, I know it!!!

I’ve got 2 NEW MUSIC VIDEOS!!!

This past year has yielded so much for me, and some of the most exciting stuff that happened was the creation of not one but TWO amazing music videos. The first video for “No One In The World” was made by brilliant young director Kurt Nishimura out of Portland, OR. The second video, made for “Another Day” which I wrote for the short independent film “Broken,” was directed by visionary Edber Mamisao. Please enjoy!
